Jenney whipped up this absolutely delicious braised cabbage with ham dish from her imagination. It’s simple, uses only a few ingredients, and tastes amazing!

Braised Cabbage with Ham
1 Tbsp lard or oil
1/2 head of green cabbage, sliced into thin strips
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1/3 cup chicken, veggie, or pork stock
1/2 lb smoked ham, diced

1. In a large skillet, heat the lard over medium heat. Add the cabbage and sauté for 4-5 minutes, until it’s browned and caramelized.

2. Add the stock and turn down the heat to medium low and let the cabbage braise in the stock for a few minutes. Then add the garlic.

3. Continue cooking the cabbage, garlic and stock, stirring periodically, until the stock is nearly cooked off, about 15 minutes

4. Add the ham to the skillet and stir into the cabbage mixture.

5. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the ham is warmed through.

6. Remove from heat and serve over pasta or rice.

7. Enjoy!
