We dropped the news that we’re scaling back the farm a few months ago. And ever since, I’ve wondered how this moment – our last fresh pork day – would feel.

Would it feel sad, knowing that we’re nearing the end of something that’s been so beautifully rich and deeply fulfilling?

Would it feel relieving, knowing that the faucet has officially turned off and the break we said we needed and wanted is closer than ever before?

I know from the emails, notes, and conversations at the Farm Store that many of you – our dear customers – are feeling a sense of impending loss, either of the great food, fun stories, or both.

I truly wish that we could help. After all, “farmer” is the role we’ve played for 8 years now, and if I’m being honest, there’s some regret in my heart (and Greg’s, too) that the next best step for ourselves prevents us from being there for you.

I guess when I go deeper, though, to the very base of my soul, it’s pride that I feel the most right now, not sadness, regret or relief.

We’ve raised meat in the very best way we knew how, upholding all the organic standards and going so many steps beyond. And we’ve kept our promises to you, bringing you the freshest, cleanest meat on the planet, week after week, year after year.

And just as we’re proud of all that, we’re proud of YOU – for finding us, making all those trips to the Farm Store, seeing the value in the foods we grow, and supporting this farm with your hard-earned dollars. You kept this farm alive and well, and if it happened here, it can happen anywhere!

With all that being said, things are really starting to wind down – the very last batch of fresh pork that will ever be available at the Farm Store is here. This means that, except for some bacon and ham that’s currently smoking at the butcher, the pork you see on the online store is the last of it.

We’ve extended farm store hours on Sunday from 9am-2pm to make it a little easier for you to stock up this weekend in preparation for Thanksgiving. We can’t wait to see YOU this weekend.

Your (very) Proud Farmers,
Jenney & Greg

PS – Our pork supplies are dwindling, but we still have a few packs of sausage, bacon, and stock-making supplies as of this morning.

PPS – Don’t forget, if you ordered a turkey, pickup is this SUNDAY, November 19th, 9am-2pm, at the Farm Store, where we’re also collecting non-perishable food donations for Agape Haven of Abundance.
