Greg’s bringing pigs to the butcher this morning so that we can share more of our fresh organic meats with you at the Store this week. We are preparing for something huge!

And that’s left me here writing to you from our living room, crutches still at my side, sun shining through the windows, with just the sound of the clock ticking behind me for company.

I’m making a speedy recovery (for real, this time!), and it feels like the slower pace of my morning is nudging me toward sharing something we haven’t talked about publicly yet, but have been thinking about for a while now.

You see, we receive requests from customers on an almost weekly basis, asking for us to start shipping. Whether it’s because you live a little further away from the farm, don’t have the ability to make it out to the Farm Store, or live out of town for some part of the year, it’s absolutely true – you can’t beat the convenience of shipping!

We make a point to listen to your needs and wishes and have been researching what it would take for us to make this happen. But every time it felt like we were almost ready to kick things into high gear and make this an option for our community, we ran into the same problem…

The problem being that shipping perishable goods like ours through the mail usually comes with a hefty environmental impact – think boxes, cooling inserts, dry ice and the like. And we just couldn’t wrap our minds around all that waste. Now, here comes the exciting part!

We discovered a way to dramatically reduce the environmental impact and ensure that the supplies required to ship a box of meat to your door would be recyclable – and actually re-usable!. And that, my friends, was the game changer that led us to make this exciting decision: Stonecrop Farm will offer the option of shipping in 2023!

If you’ve been dreaming of ordering from us, but want the option of shipping, we need your help! Click here and let us know who you are so we can include you as a beta tester as we launch the shipping program and send out the first few boxes this summer. You’ll get gifts of free meat and so much gratitude along the way!!

Your Farmers,
Jenney & Greg

PS – It’s a FRESH pork week at the Farm Store. Order ahead online or drop in to see what we have available this Sunday 9am-12pm and Thursday 430-6pm.
