Lemon Braised Pork Hock
1-2 pork hocks
10 garlic cloves, peeled
2 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp onion powder
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup olive oil, more for drizzling
3 tsp dried oregano
1 cup water
Ground black pepper
1 tsp salt, plus more to taste
1. Preheat oven to 450F.
2. Combine cumin, onion powder, 1 tsp salt.
3. Spread garlic cloves on bottom of roasting pan.
4. Rub pork hocks all over with spice mixture and place in the roasting pan on top of garlic. Drizzle with oil.
5. Place roasting pan in oven. Roast for 35 minutes, uncovered.
6. Combine olive oil, oregano, lemon juice, and water in a bowl. Stir well.
7. Remove roasting pan from oven, lower temp to 350F.
8. Pour the oil and lemon mixture over the hocks.
9. Return roasting pan to oven and roast for 2.5 hours, or until meat is falling off the bone.
10. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
