We just recently hired another part-time employee. Her name is Amanda, and she’s absolutely lovely. Our goals in expanding the team here on the farm might surprise you.
Initially, it came down to something we learned a while back when I was recovering from my second hip surgery, and Greg simultaneously strained his back.
When we were both held up on the couch, we didn’t have anyone else trained to do the complicated tasks we do here on the farm. Being just inches away from breaking our promises to YOU was a major wake-up call.
In addition to this strong motivator, expanding the team means that we have the bandwidth to take on different kinds of projects, too. We’re mainly thinking about the type of projects that have nothing to do with the animals per se (they’re happy as could be out there!) but make your shopping experience here even better!
One project we’ve been dreaming of for years is for our Half Pig customers. In case you haven’t checked it out yet, our Half Pig offer is the most special experience we offer here on the farm – it stocks you up with our worry-free pork in the most sustainable way possible and comes with all sorts of perks and discounts.
And one thank-you gift that we’ve been dreaming of giving to our Half Pig customers specifically is an online course!! We want to walk you through everything you need to know about each cut of meat, including how to cook it to perfection and a platform to connect with each other – that isn’t on Facebook.
A project of this scope hasn’t been possible for us due to the other demands on the farm. But we’re finally ready now. It’s happening, and that’s only because we have amazing people, like Amanda, on our team.
