I know we’re a couple of weeks early on this. But I couldn’t help it! We’re ready to share what we learned in 2022.
The first one probably won’t surprise you one bit, especially if you’ve been with us for a while.
#1 WE WAITED WAY, WAY TOO LONG TO HIRE HELP
We started Stonecrop Farm together 7 years ago, and wearing all the hats together, for all these years has been a challenge.
It’s taught us so much about ourselves and the strength of our partnership, but it was time to hire help and learn how to start delegating.
We’re so glad we finally managed to start doing that this year. Thank you to Abby and Amanda – having you on Team Stonecrop has brought this farm to a new level!
#2 WE ARE GETTING GOOD AT MAKING HARD THINGS EASY!
We’ve been on a mission this year to identify the hard and heavy aspects of farming and figure out how to make them easy!
Sometimes this looked like cutting things out entirely. Other times, it meant using technology that already exists in creative ways. And every once in a while, when the technology didn’t exist, it meant us inventing something entirely new!
Time and time again, we learned that we have the power to keep this work efficient and fun, which sets the foundation for the farm to be sustainable for years to come!
#3 LESS IS STILL MORE
As you may remember, we started the farm with the idea that we’d grow a little of everything and quickly learned that this was the exact recipe for burnout.
We’ve been on a journey of getting to the point where we do just a few things and do them extraordinarily well.
We doubled down on this idea again this past year, cutting out and delegating as much as possible so that we could focus ON ONE THING – growing the best organic and pasture-raised meat (and eggs!) on the planet, with quality better than a Michelin star restaurant!
The result? 5-star reviews from YOU and selling out week after week!
Thank you for supporting the farm in 2022 and beyond! We couldn’t be prouder to be your Farmers.
