You probably won’t believe this. But every year or so, we actually interview a bunch of our customers.

It might sound strange, but I’m totally serious! We spend time creating a list of topics we’re curious about and questions that we might want to ask.

And then, we go ahead and book a phone or zoom call for 20-30 minutes so that we can just chat about life and the farm.

We do this because we want to learn about you and your experiences shopping with us. And to think more deeply about how we might be able to better serve you in the future.

Every interview helps us gain new clarity on where we’ve been and where we’re going. Truly, there hasn’t been a one, that didn’t help us see things in a different light.

But I have to tell you! Greg just wrapped up the interviews for 2021 and I watched the playbacks from one last week and I couldn’t stop the tears during this one moment…

During the interview, Greg asked a question about what problem the farm solves. And without hesitating, our customer said this:

“Meat…your food…it shouldn’t be a mystery. You should know where it comes from. I feel assured that the food I’m eating from you is good food all the way around, that it’s good quality and humane. This is a huge concern for me and the farm has done all that for me….”

Farming has been a winding path for us, with lots of twists and turns. Figuring out what type of farmers we wanted to be and what exactly we wanted to grow has been a challenge at times.

But the mission – to grow amazing quality food and be true and transparent at every step along the way – has never once wavered and we’re so amazed by YOU, who sees the value in this way of living and eating. And have jumped in and joined us wholeheartedly on this journey.

Knowing where your food comes from is a spectacular thing, indeed. It’s been such a gift in our own lives. And it’s one that we’re thrilled to keep on sharing with you, week after week.
