A few years ago, we went to an organic farming conference in the ADKs. On the first night away, our 500 lb boar broke out of his paddock.

With our proverbial tails between our legs, we drove home, helped the hormone frenzied boar back into his paddock, and missed the entire conference.

Since very few among us know the art of milking, I imagine that dairy farmers have it even tougher. But caring for our crew of pigs and chickens is far from simple.

It’s not just crazy things like a boar getting out that make leaving the farm so hard. It’s also that managing even the minor mishaps require troubleshooting skills that most of us don’t have… think heavy equipment, power tools, and the like.

This is why traveling is still the scariest thing we do. And yet, we’ve never been more motivated to give it another go and try our hand at another mini-vacation as we were this week.

It went off without a hitch – we spent the last few days biking around downtown Buffalo, adventuring in parks, and enjoying ramen and tasty craft beer. It was perfect.

Rested and recharged, we’ll be back at the Farm Store this weekend. And we can’t wait to see you then!

Your Farmers,
Jenney & Greg
