Ingredients:

-1/4 cup water

-1/2 inch piece of turmeric grated  (no need to peel)

-1/2 inch piece ginger, grated (no need to peel)

-1 cardamom pod or a pinch of dried cardamon

-1 cinnamon stick or a pinch of dried cinnamon

-3 black peppercorns

-1/2 tablespoon honey

-1 cup milk

-1 black tea bag

Instructions

  1. In a small sauce pan over low heat, add the water, turmeric, ginger, cardamon, cinnamon, peppercorns and honey. Bring to a simmer.

  2. Pour in the milk and add the tea bag. When milk is steaming, use a spoon to taste and add more honey if you’d like.

  3. Pour through a fine-mesh strainer and drink while hot.

Note: This recipe makes 1 cup of tea, but can be easily doubled, tripled, quadrupled, to share or stored in the fridge for later.
