Filling Ingredients:

-6 cups of apples chopped into 1/2-1 in chunks (approximately 8 apples room temp is best)

-1/4 cup finely chopped fresh ginger

-1 Tbsp brown sugar

-1/2 tsp cinnamon

Topping Ingredients:

-1 cup all-purpose flour

-1/2 cup sugar (brown sugar is best)

-1/4 cup chopped pecans

-1/4 cup rolled oats

-1/4 tsp nutmeg

-1/2 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 cup melted unsalted butter

Instructions:

  1. Combine and gently mix apple and ginger in a 2.5 quart baking dish (a shallower dish will allow more moisture to cook off).

  2. Combine all other filling ingredients in a bowl and then pour on top of apples. Stir a couple of times to combine with the apples.

  3. Combine all dry topping ingredients in a separate bowl. Stir in melted butter.

  4. Spread crumble topping on top of apple filling. Bake at 375F for 40-50 minutes, until the crumble topping has nicely browned and the apples are starting to break down.

  5. Serve with ice cream or enjoy all by itself!
