Have you ever been at one of those big forks in the road and wondered how the heck you’re ever going to make the decision to go right or left?

We hit a big fork like this recently. It was back in March when COVID was just becoming our reality. The farmers market we’ve attended for years was making their plan to re-open and we just couldn’t shake the feeling.

Do we go right and rejoin the market as we’d always planned or do we go left and make the huge leap of faith to transition all of our business to the Farm Store, only?

It was tough for us, not just because loading up the truck and heading over to the Market each week had become, over the past 5 years, a sort of sacred ritual for Greg and me. But because the market was where we learned how to crawl as a business, and then where we learned to walk and run.

It was where we first connected with many of you and watched this incredible community of Stonecrop supporters grow. It’s where we built friendships with other farmers/vendors, many of whom will always feel like family to us.

We wrestled with this decision for weeks. But our motivation as we looked at our options and tried to figure out what the next move should be, was YOU. We’ve been feeding your families for 5 years now and we knew you’d be counting on us now, more than ever. And pick-up just had to be safe.

As you probably already know by now, we turned left and we chose to make our Farm Store our home base. It’s been just 2 months, but so far it feels like it’s going great! Having partnered with Deep Root Farm to bring fresh local veggies here, has made it all feel even sweeter.

Knowing that the farmer’s market is re-opening this weekend feels so bittersweet. We’ll always be grateful for what the market was to us all and all the amazing memories we shared there together. Looking out at that sea of like-minded farmers and foodies was truly such a privilege!

But we’re following a new path now that we think will serve our customers well, no matter how long this pandemic goes on. And that feels right, all the way down to our core.

Your Farmers,
Jenney & Greg
