We figured this was going to happen. Enclosed space. Large gathering of people. A confirmed case of COVID-19 in Rochester….
That’s right. In case you haven’t heard it yet, the Brighton Market has been temporarily closed to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Small business owners like us are freaking out right now. They’re terrified that their bottom line will suffer, they’re worried about how long this situation will last and they’re wondering if they’ll make it through.
As you can imagine, Greg and I did a little of that last week, too, since our business is entirely dependent on seeing your smiling faces at market every Sunday. But the freakout didn’t last long and here’s why.
We know that this is a critical time to slow the spread of the coronavirus and we all have to do our part. And more than that, we know how incredibly resilient the Stonecrop community is and that we’re going to get through this together.
So here’s our Plan B….
-
If you need healthy food while the market is closed (it’s probably more important than ever!) we’ll be opening up the Farm Store on Sundays from 1-4pm in addition to our usual Thursday Farm Store (430-6pm).
-
We will have a selection of pasture raised pork available. You can see what we have available by checking out our online pre-order form here.
-
Our farm is located just 15 minutes away from the Brighton Market location and is just about 20 minutes away from anywhere else. (Here’s the address: 1396 Rush Henrietta Townline Rd)
-
There’s plenty of parking and space to spread out so you won’t be in too close quarters with anyone.
As the situation progresses, we’ll be sure to update you on any developments about the reopening of the Brighton Market as soon as we hear anything. Until then, please know you can find us at the farm on Sundays from 1-4 and during the usual Farm Store hours on Thursdays (430-6pm).
Your Farmers,
Greg & Jenney
